Um, at the time, this was the most sophisticated music ever created, right? it incorporated almost every known musical idea of the day. what a genious Joplin was... and i find it plenty dynaimc. maybe yoy should have taken 1st place

I've heard this played hundreds of times, by so many different pianists, but to hear Joplin play it, you can just FEEL the essence of it. What an unappreciated genius of his time.

I love this version it's so cool and waxman900, don't feel bad- be easy on yourself since your just learning- no one expects you to be perfect if you're just learning- I know how it feels- you want to play it right away because it's so much fun- give yourself time and before you know it you'll be a professional- I have faith in you!

Haha, this song has ALWAYS put a smile on my face, it just creates this happy, bubbly feeling inside... As a piano player just beginning in college, it's my ultimate goal to play this piece...:-D

A while back when I was about 10 or 11, I performed this song at a Music Competition. (My teacher re-wrote it so that it was in the key of G, not A flat, and he also had to re-write some of the stretches because my hand was just physically not able to reach as far as the original music required) but I got third, and it was because I didn't include enough dynamic variety in my playing, but as we see here, Joplin didn't mean for a whole lot of dynamics to be included.
