Good question, some hovercraft sink, but the Hov Pod is fully buoyant. It is essential to check what on water payload a hovercraft can manage, The Hov Pod 52 can lift 550 pounds from an on water start, many hovercraft with smaller engines cannot overcome their forward bow wave, and fail to get airborn, or "over hump". We have bigger engines with lifting capacity to 780 pounds.

Anothr question. what will happen, when the engine fails while on the water?Is it safe to deliberately turn it off on the water, to stop, and tie it up somewhere?

We have lost up to 25% and have still operated as a hovercraft, but with many segments damaged, performance gets a little sluggish. Our skirts are so strong though, we actually cut the new ones and invite customers to try to tear them during demos, many hovercraft apparently have paper thin nylon skirts which tear easily, good to check.

We have never managed to flip it over, we recommend using in conditions up to force 4. The craft has a very low centre of gravity, very stable. Thanks for the interest, more info on hovpod . com

No, I've had to sell it due to a lack of space! But i don't understand why the skirt on this Hov Pod thingy keeps coming loose. Just looks like poor design to me.

Cable ties protect the skirts from damage, so just replace the cable tie, cheaper for the customer than damaging the skirt, should you snag on something protruding from the mud. Hope this answers your question - do you still have your Marlin?

Incorrect - the skirts are not wrecked, we fit cheap cable ties designed to break before the skirts get damaged, to save costs for the customer - cost of cable tiem 2 cents, and one minute to re fix skirt in position. It is very hard to flip the craft due to buoyancy between a double floor for added protection
